Slimline Scene Builder Card - Soak Up the Fun… Hope your Birthday is a Splash!

Hi there, I’m here to share another scene builder card. This time on an outdoor scene! Check it out!  Likewise, I cut out all the pieces of paper first with my paper trimmer. A background piece, 3 long strips of paper for foreground and middle ground and 2 smaller pieces of paper for the sides.  Then, using Lawn Fawn, stitched simple wavy borders, I die cut the long strips to create the ocean scene.   Next, I inked the strips with various shades of blue. I used Hero Arts Shadow Ink: Mint Julep; Tide Pool, Pool and Navy.  For the background, I used Lawn Fawn, 'Palm tree border' lawn cut and inked it with distress oxide: Vintage photo, rusty hinge, mustard seed and mowed lawn.  I decided to use the smooth sailing stamp set and the coordinating lawn cut from Lawn Fawn and a cute whale 🐳 from MFT for this card.  The colouring is done with copic markers.  Finally, the fun part, I arranged all the images and used the sentiments from MFT to complete the card...

Let’s Make Time to FaceTime

Hi hi, I’m sharing a card that I created in less than an hour. It is inspired by MFT sketch challenge. Due to COVID-19, I’ve not been meeting up with my friends. This card reminds me to make time to FaceTime.  I mixed and matched my stash cardstock and patterned papers. The cutting was done using my paper trimmer and scissors. No die cut used.  Thereafter, I simply stamped an image from MFT stamps set and coloured it with Altenew and Copic markers. Lastly, I added the sentiment - ‘Let’s make time to face time.’  Another look at the card.

Oh Happy Day!

Love is in the Air Wedding card

Hello… Today I’m sharing a sweet and simple wedding card. It is actually more of a money envelope as unlike the Westerners who give present to wedding couple, the Chinese give money in a red packet as a gesture of good luck and blessings.  For this card, I used Mama Elephant Money Envelope and slim card basic Creative Cuts.  I chose Kaisercraft patterned paper for the envelope and Heidi Swapp cardstock for the base. I used the scrap  patterned paper to die cut the clouds and used it as stencil.  I inked over the cloud stencil with Hero Arts Shadow ink and splattered some shimmer paint on it.  Once the background is completed, I proceed to stamp (Up with Love stamps set) and coloured with Tombow Dual Brushpen. I applied very little ink and blended it with N00 blender to give it a soft look.    To add a final touch to the card, I used Pretty Pink Posh, Holiday Jewels Mix. l hope you like it and have a nice day!

To My Sweet Friend Window Card

Hey there, today I'm sharing a window card created using mainly Mama elephant products. I also used the flowers and leaves from Lawn Fawn. Check it out!  I die cut window frame thrice and glued them together as seen below. I wanted to create a windowsill planter and filled it up with flowers and leaves.  Here’s a closer look at the windowsill planter.    Then, the fun part, decorating it with the pretty flowers from Lawn Fawn. Next, I moved on to use the brick stencil and distress ink & oxide to create the brick wall look for the base of the card.  I used a craft knife to cut out a rectangle for the window opening and added a little shade and sentiment. For the inside of the card, I stamped and coloured Mama Elephant ‘Sincerely Yours’ stamps and use Prima Marketing Inc patterned paper.  This card has two layers - one for indoor scene and another for writing greetings to friend.  Here’s a close-up look of the completed card.

Simply watercolour

My first encounter with watercolour was at 17. My JC Art teacher introduced it to me. Back then, I didn’t really like it as I find it difficult to control. Overtime, with practice, I fell in love with the medium. In the recent years, I have attended several watercolour classes under artists in Singapore. Now, I really enjoy painting with the medium.  Today, I am going to paint a stamped background, ‘Country Roads background’ from Hello Bluebird. I started painting the tree first. Then the grass and leaves. I used a water brush instead of my watercolour brush for quick painting. The set-up is really easy and stress-free. Just the palette, water brush and tissue.  Here a look at the completed background. I’m happy with it. 😉 Looking at the painted background, I decided to add the girl and butterflies from MFT ‘Flutterby Friends’ stamps set. To make the girl stands out, I painted the dress orange.   As the background is already quite detailed, I decided to include on...

Hi Beautiful… Happy Birthday Card

Hi hi, it’s July and it’s my birthday month. Today, I decided to make a card for a special colleague who birthday is a day after mine. She has undergone a major surgery last year, has recovered and back to work. Not only are we born in the same month but same year too. So for some reason, I feel a special connection with her. I started  off with the inking of the background with distress oxide. Then, I die cut a circle with mama elephant die on the inked background. I cut out a small piece of pattern paper 3”x3” from my scrap paper and partially die cut it with the same circle die.  Thereafter,  I stamped the adorable girl from Mft ‘Flutterby Friends’ inside the card and coloured it with fabercastell colour pencils.  I also stamped and coloured the butterflies.     I decided to use Mft Happy Birthday Circle Frame die-namics and die cut it twice.  Finally, putting everything together and adding the sentiments on the card and inside the card. A litt...
