What’s Better Than a Cupcake? More Cupcakes

Hey, it’s National Day here in Singapore today. A day to celebrate. 
Hence, I wanted to make a happy card using the cupcakes cutie stamps from MFT. 
 
Instead of cracking my brain to think of the layout, I took reference from MFT Weekly Sketch Challenge 553. 
On Day 7 of the coloring challenge, I coloured this set of stamps with various media, including colour pencils, water colour and Tombow dual brush pens. 
I chose a brown cardstock paper for the card base and stamped more cupcakes randomly with Versafine vintage sepia stamping ink. 
Next, I die cut a rectangle frame (also product of MFT) and inked it with squeezed lemonade and mustard seed distress oxide. Then, I splattered paint on it.

I have many people asking about the dimensions of the card so I’m going to share it today.  I created my own template using the rainbow arch from Mama Elephant slim scene scape rainbow add on. Check out the dimensions below.  Next, I die cut the slopes using Lawn Fawn stitched hillside borders and created a path.  For the background, I stamped, embossed and inked it.   Lastly, I stamped the adorable Christmas-themed critters, coloured and assembled them.   Thanks for dropping by and hope you like it. 😊

From the Whole Herd Birthday card

 Today, I’m sharing a very simple birthday card.  I’m planning to participate in the MFT Wednesday Sketch challenge.  For this card, I started with the stamping of the sentiments first. With that as a reference, I picked 3 sentiments and stamped them on the 3 strips of paper.  Then, with Prima marketing inc. stencil, I inked the background of the card with distress oxide (rusty hinge and vintage photo).  I chose the stamp set, ‘The Whole Herd’ from MFT for this card. This is a stamp set that I’ve bought many years back and still in good condition. I stamped it on a beige paper and decided to use colour pencils. For colouring with colouring pencils, I usually start with the light colours as a base colour and I will gradually build up the colours, layering and blending the colours.   Once done, I fussy cut the stamped animals as I did not buy the die cut previously.  Next, with foam dots, I arranged the animals and paste them the bigger strip of beige pa...

Simply watercolour

  My first encounter with watercolour was at 17. My JC Art teacher introduced it to me. Back then, I didn’t really like it as I find it difficult to control. Overtime, with practice, I fell in love with the medium. In the recent years, I have attended several watercolour classes under artists in Singapore. Now, I really enjoy painting with the medium.  Today, I am going to paint a stamped background, ‘Country Roads background’ from Hello Bluebird. I started painting the tree first. Then the grass and leaves. I used a water brush instead of my watercolour brush for quick painting. The set-up is really easy and stress-free. Just the palette, water brush and tissue.  Here a look at the completed background.
