Hi, TweetHeart Postcard

Hi hi, I’m here to share a postcard today.

I used Daler Rowney Aquafina smooth watercolour paper (300g/m2) as the base for this card. First, with Lawn Fawn stitched rectangle frame lawn cut, I die cut the paper (size: 5 1/2” x 4 1/4”).
Then, with Tim Holtz stencil (bubble THS002) and distres ink and oxide, I inked the background. I started with a darker shade using Victorian velvet distress ink and gradually blended tattered rose distress oxide.
For this postcard, I chose MFT TweetHeart stamp set and did some quick colouring with Tombow dual brush pens. It’s a pretty clean and easy to use medium.

After that, I die cut the coloured images and arranged them. Once I’m happy with the arrangement, I chose the sentiment and stamped it on the card first before pasting the birds and leaves.
On the back of the postcard, I decided to add another sentiment and inked the two corner with the same colours as the background.
The colour scheme is inspired by MFT Color challenge 168. Hence, I’m going to just submit it for this challenge. Wish me luck! 🍀

3D Display Card 1

Hey all, it has been a while since I last updated my blog. Busy and having fun creating all these 3D display cards. Once again, I would like to thank Jennifer McGuire for the inspiration. I have many people asking about the dimensions of the card so I’m going to share it today.  I created my own template using the rainbow arch from Mama Elephant slim scene scape rainbow add on. Check out the dimensions below.  Next, I die cut the slopes using Lawn Fawn stitched hillside borders and created a path.  For the background, I stamped, embossed and inked it.   Lastly, I stamped the adorable Christmas-themed critters, coloured and assembled them.   Thanks for dropping by and hope you like it. 😊

Slimline Scene Builder Card - Soak Up the Fun… Hope your Birthday is a Splash!

Hi there, I’m here to share another scene builder card. This time on an outdoor scene! Check it out!  Likewise, I cut out all the pieces of paper first with my paper trimmer. A background piece, 3 long strips of paper for foreground and middle ground and 2 smaller pieces of paper for the sides.  Then, using Lawn Fawn, stitched simple wavy borders, I die cut the long strips to create the ocean scene.   Next, I inked the strips with various shades of blue. I used Hero Arts Shadow Ink: Mint Julep; Tide Pool, Pool and Navy.  For the background, I used Lawn Fawn, 'Palm tree border' lawn cut and inked it with distress oxide: Vintage photo, rusty hinge, mustard seed and mowed lawn.  I decided to use the smooth sailing stamp set and the coordinating lawn cut from Lawn Fawn and a cute whale 🐳 from MFT for this card.  The colouring is done with copic markers.  Finally, the fun part, I arranged all the images and used the sentiments from MFT to complete the card...

Simply watercolour

My first encounter with watercolour was at 17. My JC Art teacher introduced it to me. Back then, I didn’t really like it as I find it difficult to control. Overtime, with practice, I fell in love with the medium. In the recent years, I have attended several watercolour classes under artists in Singapore. Now, I really enjoy painting with the medium.  Today, I am going to paint a stamped background, ‘Country Roads background’ from Hello Bluebird. I started painting the tree first. Then the grass and leaves. I used a water brush instead of my watercolour brush for quick painting. The set-up is really easy and stress-free. Just the palette, water brush and tissue.  Here a look at the completed background. I’m happy with it. 😉 Looking at the painted background, I decided to add the girl and butterflies from MFT ‘Flutterby Friends’ stamps set. To make the girl stands out, I painted the dress orange.   As the background is already quite detailed, I decided to include on...
